College Types
Pearse College has grown to be a leader in adult and further education with an outstanding record in providing an educational service to students of different ages and backgrounds.
The college has been providing a wide range of top quality further education courses for adults and school leavers since 1980. The courses are designed to prepare students for employment and third level education in an adult-friendly environment. Mature students who wish to develop new skills are especially welcome.
College Campus
The college campus consists of the main building, the sports hall and an annexe building. Facilities include video and radio studios, language laboratory, 2 fully equipped science rooms for practical work, a large cookery kitchen, art room and architectural draughting studios, a conference centre, kitchen, complementary therapies suite, several computer rooms as well as class rooms, library, assembly hall and state of the art gym facilities.
Computer Facilities
Computer facilities in the College include six networked computer rooms with DSL Broadband and a draughting studio with Autocad and DSL connection. These facilities are upgraded regularly with the latest equipment and software. The software includes microsoft office, CAD, Visual Basic, TAS Book Accounts, SAGE, Typing Tutors, Adobe PhotoShop, DTP and Web Authoring Programs.
Library
There is a full-time librarian. Library facilities are expanding all the time. Currently the library has over 6,000 books, with a computerised lending and borrowing system. Pearse College library also provides photocopying facilities. Computer facilities with broadband internet access are available for student use.
Canteen
The College canteen, run by a professional catering firm, offers hot and cold meals, teas, coffees etc. at reasonable prices.
Crèche
Crèche facilities are available at very reasonable rates. It is important to apply early to the manager to reserve a place for the next academic year.
