Drogheda Institute of Further Education

This college was officially opened by the Minister for Education & Science in April 2004 and is dedicated solely to the provision of Post Leaving Certificate/Further Education Courses.

The building is equipped with the most modern, high tech facilities to be found in a college of this kind. Further Education is the emerging force in Irish education which opens the way for students to access further study/work opportunities.

The Further Education & Training Awards Council (FETAC) and
other professional and examination bodies validate all courses. This facilitates the progression of students to highly skilled employment or to the pursuit of further education through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Our aim is to provide the highest quality in education and training by offering excellent courses in a supportive environment. Thus our students are motivated and enabled to achieve their full potential.

The Institute is located on a ten-acre site near Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on the north side of Drogheda, approx. 1 mile from the town centre. Regular local bus services provide transport to the Institute. Students travelling to Drogheda from the regions are well served with both bus and train services. There is a dedicated link both morning and evening to connect with local and national bus services.

A regular local bus service is provided every 30 minutes to and from the town centre.
